Denise grew up in Huntington Beach, California. She graduated May 2009 from California State University, Long Beach, receiving her Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, and minored in Business Entrepreneurship. She then went on to earn her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Long Island University, Brooklyn in 2012. She started her career working in the orthopedic outpatient setting in Boston and LA, and then moved on to pursue a specialization in Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) at Kaiser in Vallejo, CA starting June 2014.
Aaron and Denise met working at Kaiser, and later moved to the Central Coast where Denise returned to the orthopedic physical therapy setting with an emphasis in Pilates. She and Aaron were married on September 29th, 2018.
Aaron grew up in a small town of Penryn, California. In 2007, he graduated from the University of California Davis with degree in Genetics then went on to earn his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Azusa Pacific University. After graduating from Azusa in 2010, he did a 9-month residency program in Vallejo California, specializing in Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF). Aaron continued to work in Vallejo with people suffering from neurological insults (strokes, traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries) over the next five years. During this time, he completed a four-year training in the Anat Baniel Method (www.anatbanielmethod.com) expanding his skills to treat children with special needs. After the kidnapping, he moved with Denise to California’s central coast. He now works at Apiros (www.apiros.team), training athletes from high school to professional/Olympic level.
